Mine One Children's Magazine From 1967
This Mine One magazine for children was part of a series published monthly from September to June (the school year months) by MINE Publications, a subsidiary of Holt, Rinehart and Winston, Inc. Mine One and the other titles (Mine Two, Mine Three, Mine and Little Mine) were used by teachers to provide a fun and comic book-like graphic way to teach religion class; to bring the principles of the Bible and Christianity to children in a way that they could relate to. Each magazine has games, word finds, songs and poetry — even crafty ideas (e.g. make a paper crib set from the back cover). What I love most about them are the retro illustrations and charming, innocent tone.
