Vera Neumann in McCall's
While flipping through the Spring-Summer 1973 McCall's Needlework & Crafts magazine the other day I stumbled upon this article for designing your own needlepoint using a "designer scarf" and who popped up — Vera Neumann! The scarf is such a departure from the more painterly pen and ink designs featured in this post, but that doesn't mean I don't like the design. I do! I love the shapes, the color palette and the simplicity of the design. Hmmm, I wonder what Vera's inspiration was for this scarf? Birds, sailboats, compasses? Enjoy!
